Angels of Assisi rescues more than a dozen stray dogs from McDowell County, W.Va.

WELCH, W.Va. (WFXR) — Angels of Assisi rescued 14 dogs from McDowell County, West Virginia that were apparently abandoned on the side of the road.

Members of the animal shelter commended McDowell County residents for their help in gathering up the animals after one was hit by a vehicle.

The animals will be seen by the agency’s veterinary team on Saturday, August 30.

“From there, they’ll get a full vet exam including vaccines, microchips, flea and tick prevention they’ll undoubtedly need , and then eventually spayed and neutered in the future,” Angels of Assisi wrote on Facebook.
