Tipped box truck leaks fuel resulting in hazmat response
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A box truck and a single passenger vehicle collided this morning, causing the box truck to tip on its side.
The accident occurred today just before noon. First responders were able to arrive at the scene quickly to assist with the crash.
The tipped box truck started spilling fuel. Officials confirmed that because of the fast actions of the firefighters and hazmat responders, they were able to gather most of the 30-45 gallons before it went down the drain.
Salt Lake City Fire Department stated Industrial Road was closed while they waited for the health department to investigate and give the all clear that the fuel was cleaned up.
