Rockford Police raids result in firearms, multiple types of drugs seized after months-long investigation
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police raided four houses for firearms and drugs in the past four months, resulting in three people being arrested.

Officials searched a residence in the 1800 block of Hutchins Avenue in May 2025 and found cocaine, two handguns, cannabis, fentanyl pills and cash.

Sadie Turner, 30, was arrested and charged with possession of drugs with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of weapons by a felon.

She was released on pretrial soon after being taken into custody.

On August 19, authorities were sent to search a residence in the 600 block of Newport Avenue and found cannabis after being informed that Turner was still selling drugs.

She was taken into custody but given pretrial release again.

In July 2025, RPD’s Narcotics Unit arrested Jaquavia Thompson, 32, after a search in the 2300 block of Huffman Boulevard.

Officials seized cocaine, heroin and a handgun during the raid.

Thompson is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and cocaine.

She has since been released by the Winnebago County Courts.

Further police work resulted in the narcotics unit in a seizure in the 200 block of Cameron Avenue on August 28.

The search yielded cocaine, cannabis, Adderall pills, Vyvanse pills, hydrocodone pills, methadone, THC wax and cash.

Kenneth Sowells, 30, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, cannabis and controlled substances.

Thompson’s mugshot was not readily available.
