Police: Lee County woman arrested after throwing hot coffee on gas station employee

FRANKLIN GROVE, Ill. (WTVO) — A Lee County woman faces several charges after police say she threw a cup of hot coffee on a gas station employee in Franklin Grove.

Brandi Elliott, 41, was arrested Wednesday afternoon. She is charged with aggravate battery and aggravated assault.

Lee County Sherriff’s deputies were called to the Casey’s General Store in Franklin Grove for the report of a disturbance. Witnesses told deputies Elliott threw a cup of hot coffee at the employee and later threatened them with a knife.

The employee suffered burns to their skin.

Elliott was booked and later released from custody on pretrial provisions.
