LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) launched a new website to display crime data.
LCSO said that this website, called the Loudoun County Crime Dashboard, will display data about crimes reported to LCSO that target individuals and property. The website also has a variety of filters to help residents narrow down information.
The dashboard has the following features and information:
- Crimes against persons and property, along with individual categories of crime
- Crimes by LCSO station area
- Crimes by gender, age, race, ethnicity, and/or day and time
- Crimes by victim versus suspect
- Crimes by residents versus non-residents of Loudoun County
- A county map highlighting the general location and concentration of crimes
Year-to-date crime data is the main highlight, but the website also features 2024 data for comparisons.
In a news release, LCSO said that Loudoun County has the “lowest crime rate in the Washington Metropolitan/Northern Virginia area.” It also said that serious crime is down 14% for 2025.
“This extraordinary new tool enables us to share the most current and comprehensive information about crime in Loudoun County. The Crime Dashboard puts reliable and unfiltered data in one place so the public can see what we see and make better decisions about their own safety. It will also help with crime prevention and reporting – and make Loudoun even safer,” LCSO Sheriff Mike Chapman said in the release.
LCSO said that the dashboard updates every night.
