Officers say Wilson Elementary School, at Ashlan Avenue and Hughes Avenue, was placed on lockdown at around 1:50 p.m. following a report of someone on campus believed to be carrying a firearm.
Two parents who spoke to YourCentralValley.com described a student on campus with a firearm, which prompted the response from Fresno Police. Responding officers reported finding a sixth-grade student pointing what appeared to be a gun at others on campus; the gun was later found to be a replica.
Parents were seen entering the campus as police opened the gates for them.
YourCentralValley.com has reached out to the Fresno Unified School District for further information about the incident.
