LIVE: Funeral services honor Tremonton fallen officer, Sgt. Lee Sorensen

LOGAN, Utah (ABC4) — Funeral services for Tremonton Police Officer Sergeant Lee Sorensen, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Aug. 17, will be held today.

The service will take place at Utah State University, and Sgt Sorensen will be laid to rest in a cemetery in East Garland. SR-30 will have an extended closure as the procession reaches the turn to go south on East Garland Rd.

Funeral services will be live-streamed on ABC4’s TV streaming app, News4Utah+, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

On Aug. 17, Officer Eric Estrada and Sergeant Lee Sorensen were shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call in Tremonton. Today, Sgt Sorensen’s life will be honored. 

The funeral service will include messages from loved ones, remarks from Governor Spencer Cox, and more. Following the funeral service, graveside services will be held privately.
