KEDM Public Radio experiencing major funding cuts, programs being eliminated
MONROE, La.(KTVE/KARD) — KEDM’s Public Broadcasting Funding has been eliminated sparking concerns about public media nationwide. The public radio station has now had to make a cut to their second audio streaming which was KEDM’s strategic response to the recent congressional actions.
KEDM’s Jay Curtis says that the station is working to counteract these cuts with a combination of fundraising and programming eliminations.
What we’re looking at do do in the future is a combination of fundraising and programming cuts. We buy a lot of programming from NPR and other places some of those we’ll just simply not be able to afford anymore and we’re working to develop some more local programming.
