IBC: Frequency Launches Studio Live Platform To Bring Simplicity &Scale To Live FAST & OTT Streaming

Frequency, the engine behind many of the world’s best-known streaming television channels, says it will launch Studio Live, a next-generation unified suite of tools designed to simplify and scale live streaming for FAST and OTT platforms at IBC 2025, (RAI Amsterdam, Sept. 12-15), in Booth: Hall 3.MS26.

Built on Frequency’s cloud-native platform, Studio Live “brings advanced automation, low-latency ingest, dynamic graphics and real-time monitoring into a single interface, enabling live delivery with the same ease and precision as linear broadcast.”

Already trusted for high-profile events like the Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup, and headline news coverage, Frequency is now expanding what’s possible with live, “empowering teams to stream 24/7 channels, live events, breaking news, and pop-up programming with confidence and control,” it says.

Blair Harrison, Frequency founder-CEO, says: “Live is one of the fastest growing opportunities in streaming today. Studio Live is built on everything we’ve learned delivering live video at scale over many years. Our goal is always to provide customers with the highest quality service and complete visibility into their channel operations, while eliminating all friction and complexity. Frequency is now delivering this same level of commitment and excellence to live.”

Frequency describes Studio Live as “a new suite of tools and services that brings together all existing live capabilities, and many new ones designed for every stage of the live streaming workflow, delivering the precision and reliability required to execute high-profile streams at scale.”

New Features Include:

  • Ultra-low latency ingest with real-time source previewing
  • Automated and manual ad triggers with custom slates
  • Dynamic overlays and branding powered by Graphics+
  • Multi-channel distribution from a single source across scheduled and ad-hoc events
  • Resilient playout architecture with automated multi-region failover and disaster recovery configurations
  • Real-time monitoring and audit trails for complete operational visibility
  • Tiered operational support from intuitive self-serve tools to managed services

“We didn’t just build Studio Live for the big players. We built it for everyone who wants to move fast, look great, and broadcast live, whether they’re operating a 24/7 FAST network or launching their first live OTT pop-up event,” Harrison adds. “It’s time live became just as simple and scalable as the rest of the OTT and FAST universe.”
