Former Amarillo City Council member announces candidacy for U.S. House District 13

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A former Amarillo City Council member has launched his campaign for congress.

Mark Nair D-TX, former Amarillo City Council member, announced his candidacy for U.S. House of Representatives in TX-13. Representative Ronny Jackson R-TX currently holds the seat.

On Tuesday, Nair announced his campaign at Crush Wine Bar and Grill in Downtown Amarillo. He said his campaign centers on practical solutions that matter to families across Texas.

“As a former City Council member for Amarillo, Nair focused on bringing the discussion and challenges facing the city centerstage, specifically the disenfranchisement of the north and eastern parts of the city,” said officials with Nair’s campaign in a news release.
