Eugene man accused of encouraging sex abuse after tip about his online activity

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Eugene man was arrested Friday following a tip regarding his online activities.

Larry Wayne Merrill, 45, faces 10 counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the first degree, according to a press release from the Eugene Police Department.

Officers from the Violent Crimes Unit took Merrill into custody Aug. 29 after serving him with a search warrant for his vehicle and home in the Northeast Eugene area. He will be lodged at the Lane County Jail, police said.
