DMV Download | DC Jazz Festival, Fairfax Labor Day Car Show, Nationals Postgame Concert, more

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Looking for things to do across the DMV on a budget and don’t know how to spend your days off? Or are you new to the area? Well, you’re in luck.

In DMV Download, hosts Kaitlyn Dillon and Makayla Jennings explore upcoming events and hidden gems across D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

In episode five, learn more about the extended summer restaurant week that runs through Aug. 31, a new interactive experience at Tysons Corner, the Nationals Postgame Concert series and events, including:

21st Annual DC JazzFest at The Wharf

  • Starts Saturday, Aug. 30 through Aug. 31 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at District Pier
  • Features over 20 concerts, interviews and exclusive events that showcase internationally known artists and local talent
  • Events will be held at two outdoor stages at The Wharf

RuPaul’s Drag Race: Werq The World

  • Saturday, Aug. 30, at 8 p.m., doors opening at 6:30 p.m. at the Anthem on Wharf Street, SW
  • Includes a behind-the-scenes look at the show RuPaul’s Drag Race and live performances
  • Hosted by Jimbo as Joan Rivers and includes acts by Daya Betty as Lady Gaga, Jaida Essence Hall as Beyoncé, Jorgeous as Ariana Grande, Kim Chi as Celine Dion, and Vanessa Vanjie as Rihanna
  • Tickets start at $68

Fairfax Labor Day Car Show

  • Monday, Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Downtown Fairfax
  • Features over 300 show cars such as street rods, antiques and muscle cars
  • Events include music, food, and raffles
  • Free admission, but donations are encouraged, with 100% going towards charities such as Life with Cancer and the Cloverleaf Equine Center

Greenbelt Labor Day 2025 Festival

  • Begins Friday, Aug. 29, through Sept. 1, with times varying each day at the Historic Roosevelt Center
  • Includes events such as bingo, live performances, a pet show, walking tours, the diaper derby crawlers and toddlers race, and more
  • Sensory quiet room available for those who need a break from the events
  • $2.00 per ride tickets, $30.00 for 25 tickets and $35.00 for the “all you can ride wristband,” only good for one day
