2 Boone County deputies shot while serving child support warrant

WALTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Two deputies were injured while responding to a felony child support warrant on Thursday in Walton.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said that just after 10 p.m., deputies were called to Service Road to serve a warrant, but while entering the home, they were shot.

According to the department, both deputies were taken to the UC Medical Center for multiple gunshot wounds, with one requiring surgery.

Both deputies are reportedly in stable condition.

The sheriff’s department said the suspect is armed and barricaded inside a home.

The SWAT team was activated, and as of 12:11 a.m. on Friday, the team was still active at the scene on Service Road near the Walton Kroger.
