Wynne High School steel going up after 2023 tornado destruction

Video: Wynne High School finding ways to recover nearly a month after tornado

WYNNE, Ark. – A building and school community decimated by the March 2023 tornadoes is returning.

Wynne Public Schools posted on social media that the first section of structural steel for the new high school site was being installed on Monday.

The original high school building was destroyed as an EF-3 tornado swept through the community on March 31, 2023, a month before graduation. Students helped clear the rubble.

The students had been released from school earlier that day after warnings about potential tornadoes.

Wynne was one of the most damaged communities by the storm system.
