Horror maestro Guillermo del Toro is something of a legend, and his equally legendary horror memorabilia collection is practically fabled itself. During the tragic Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year, the iconic director almost lost many of his prized possessions but was able to salvage his collection — and now, he’s putting tons of those incredible horror collectables up for auction.

The beloved Mexican filmmaker has partnered with Heritage Auctions to put hundreds of items from his collection of 5,000 horror pieces up for auction. There will be three separate parts of the auction, with the first lot up for bid right now through September 26.

“Whoever buys or gets it is going to love it as much,” del Toro gushed while showing off some of his collection to Associated Press during a tour of what he calls his Bleak House, the property where his collection is kept. “That’s all you can do with your kids — sort of plan for them to have a good life after you.”

The spread of items del Toro is willing to part with is quite staggering. It includes works by comic book patriarch Jack Kirby, Bernie Wrightson’s Frankenstein illustrations, Mike Mignola’s pinup artwork for the second comic in Clive Barker’s original Hellraiser run before the film, and the original artwork for H.R. Giger’s unproduced script The Tourist.

The director is also including several major collectables from his own films. Fans can bid on replicas of the Cronos device from del Toro’s debut film, the production makeup paint master from his movie The Devil’s Backbone, several preproduction art pieces and concept drawings from Pan’s Labyrinth, and over 40 pieces of memorabilia from del Toro’s Hellboy franchise.

In regards specifically to auctioning up the pieces from Frankenstein that he plans to part with, he told the outlet: “My eyes are going to start twitching. Those two were pretty brutal.”

All the details for del Toro’s epic auction can be found here, as well as how to bid. Happy hunting, horror nerds — this is totally the jackpot.
