Two $2 million lottery prizes won in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – In just two nights, players in Mississippi scored two separate $2 million prizes in Mega Millions and Powerball. A player also won the Mississippi Match 5 $60,000 jackpot.

On August 26, a Mega Millions ticket purchased at Pilot Travel Center #586 in Moss Point matched all five white balls to win $1 million. Thanks to the automatic Megaplier, that prize doubled to $2 million.

The next night, a Powerball ticket bought at Mike’s Food & Gas in Coldwater also matched all five white balls for a $1 million prize. Because the player added the $1 Power Play option, their winnings doubled too, making it another $2 million win for Mississippi.

On Wednesday, a Mississippi Match 5 ticket purchased at Tony’s Quick Mart in New Albany matched all five numbers to win the game’s $60,000 jackpot.

The next Mega Millions drawing on August 29 at 10:00 p.m., and Powerball follows on August 30 at 9:59 p.m. The Mississippi Match 5 draws every night at 9:30 p.m.
