Spafax | The Hub Selects Interra Systems’ Baton File-Based QC Solution

Interra Systems, a provider of end-to-end quality assurance solutions for the digital media industry, today announced that Spafax | The Hub, a global provider of post-production, media transformation and secure global file delivery for airline entertainment, has selected Interra Systems’s Baton solution for file-based quality control (QC).

“Spafax is a highly respected name in the in-flight entertainment space; its adoption of Baton for file-based QC means a lot to us. Baton automates QC processes, supporting high standards for quality and compliance. The latest version of Baton includes framework updates, enhanced video quality checks for 4K files, support for RDD59 specifications, direct analysis of image sequence formats, optimized MXF file verification, advanced diagnostic tools for system health monitoring and improved API.

It has had a complete stack upgrade, with migration to Python 3.x and a new Postgres DB and Django web framework, resulting in a more responsive interface, increased scalability, and optimized resource management. In addition, it features enhanced performance for UHD content QC, optimized IMF analysis, support for SONY 360 RA analysis, improved cloud support, advanced video and audio quality checks, comprehensive Dolby Atmos support, and expanded format support, the company said.

Building on the performance of the Baton QC solution, the Baton platform has been extended with Baton Captions to meet industry demand for accurate, efficient captioning and subtitling, especially critical for today’s streaming platforms. Baton Captions “not only delivers state-of-the-art, comprehensive tools that streamline caption workflows but also seamlessly integrates advanced QC features, ensuring uncompromised quality from content review to final delivery,” it said.

Interra Systems will demonstrate the latest evolution of its Baton solution for file-based QC and the company’s complete product suite at IBC 2025, (RAI Amsterdam, Sept. 12-15) in Booth 7.C11.
