The theft happened at Field Station: Dinosaurs in Derby. Park officials said several one-of-a-kind fossils, an authentic meteorite sample, and historical artifacts were taken.
“These weren’t accidents. Plans were made to take them,” staff wrote in a social post.
The park says it was created to spark “joy, wonder, and discovery” for families, but that mission has been undercut by the theft.
“As a small business, we put our whole heart into creating something special here,” the post reads. “We believe in our community and are asking for your help in securing the safe return of these items.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the park confidentially at ksinfo@fieldstationdinosaurs.com.
