Manhattan man arrested for attempted 1st degree murder
MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Police arrested a 19-year-old Manhattan man on several charges, including attempted first-degree murder, on Wednesday.

The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) reports that it arrested a 19-year-old man around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 in the 1300 block of Vattier Street. Officers arrested him on a probable cause arrest and he is currently confined at the Riley County Jail on a $305,000 bond. The RCPD says the charges stem from a report filed in July 2025.

The 19-year-old was arrested on the following charges:

  • Attempted murder in the 1st degree; Intentional 1 and premeditated.
  • Aggravated robbery; Inflicts bodily harm.
  • Battery; Knowingly use physical contact in angry/rude manner with a weapon.
  • Burglary; Vehicle to commit felony, theft, domestic violence or sexually motivated crime.
  • Distribute marijuana; 25 – < 450 grams.
  • Possession of paraphernalia with intent to manufacture/plant/cultivate a controlled substance.
  • Use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body.
