On Aug. 22, detectives took 30-year-old Earl Tyree Porter, of Waldorf, into custody on several charges, including attempted murder.
The charges stemmed from a shooting that broke out on April 14 on October Place in Waldorf, where a man was shot in his chest repeatedly. He was taken to the hospital, where he survived his injuries.
As the investigation continued, detectives identified Porter as a primary suspect in connection with the case.
On Aug 22, the US Marshals Task Force executed a search warrant in the 3000 block of Gallery Place. There, officers located two stolen semi-automatic handguns, controlled dangerous substances and additional evidence.
Authorities arrested Porter, Dnai Collins, 26, and Damon Justin Dancy, 30.
As the investigation continued, officials learned that Dancy had three active warrants in Charles County and Collins had an active warrant in Fairfax County, Va.
Porter was charged with attempted first-degree murder and related offenses. He was held without bond.
A judge also ordered that Dancy could be released from the Charles County Detention Center on electronic monitoring and Collins could be released on personal recognizance.
