The popular national restaurant chain announced Tuesday it will not change its logo, roughly a week after it said it would.
“I think it’s the best thing they ever did,” said Trask Buxton, a customer from Landsdown.
He’s not the only one who feels that way.
“Why change, and it’s iconic. It’s there,” said Brian Bochicchio of Oakton. “It was changed for the wrong reason.”
Cracker Barrel cooked up a ton of controversy on Aug. 18 when it announced its plans to change the “old timer” logo and give its restaurants a “modern look.”
“I thought it was woke,” Buxton said.
Cracker Barrel shares dropped more than 10% shortly after it introduced the new logo, as the company faced mounting criticism, including that from President Donald Trump.
“We said we would listen, and we have,” Cracker Barreel said in a social media post. “Our new logo is going away, and our ‘old timer’ will remain.”
“It just wasn’t that big a deal for me,” customer Jeffrey Ray of Ashburn said.
Others, though, hold a different view of the company’s decision.
“It’s better,” Nahel Mankash of Sterling said.
Cracker Barrel heard the message about the change and decided to make what was old, new again.
Cracker Barrel operates 660 locations around the country, including Maryland and Virginia.
