Alleged reckless driver taken into custody after off-roading, abandoning vehicle
A person wanted for alleged reckless driving was arrested after a pursuit Thursday morning, though not before they took the sedan off-road between two freeways and tried to escape on foot.

The pursuit began at about 10:50 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said, and the California Highway Patrol soon came in to assist.

Just before 11:20 a.m., the dark-colored sedan entered the 5 Freeway, then drove onto the dirt between the 5 and 60 freeways.

The driver apparently ditched the vehicle underneath an on-ramp, then took off on foot.

By about 11:25 a.m., the driver appeared to have been taken into custody by officers and deputies on the ground.
