This is an annual program to help high school students navigate and complete their college applications.
The state’s Commission on Higher Education works with local school districts to facilitate “College Application Month” events for high school seniors across the state.
It’s recognized for being helpful to students from under-resourced communities and backgrounds.
Last year there were more than 250 events with around 46 thousand participants.
There will be representatives from about a dozen colleges there to help the seniors with their applications.
South Aiken High School’s principal says this will help them get into plenty of colleges.
“Those seniors able, they’re going to be able to hear directly from a college admissions counselor about what to put in and what not to put in, what to say, what to click. And that’s going to help them tremendously in trying to get accepted to different colleges around the state.”
The event will take place from 9am to noon at South Aiken High School.
