The Finnish action film Sisu

became an online sensation back in 2023 thanks to its relentless, over-the-top action sequences and its “imagine John Wick killing Nazis in World War II” premise. Now, “the man who refuses to die” is back in Sisu: Road to Revenge and IGN has your exclusive first look at the film’s red band trailer, which promises even more insane wall-to-wall action next time around.

“I’m very proud of the first Sisu film, so I needed to be sure that the second one would deserve to be made,” writer-director Jalmari Helander told IGN in a statement.

“I knew that we had to top the first one in many ways and I am so happy that we did. We go deeper in the main character’s story, we go bigger with the stakes and with the action! This will be epic, emotional, fun and crazy in all the good ways!!”

Actor Jorma Tommila reprises his role as Aatami Korpi who, in Sisu: Road to Revenge, returns home to Finland following World War II to find his family had been brutally murdered by the Red Army. Aatami dismantles his home, loads it onto a truck, and seeks to rebuild it elsewhere.

But when Yeagor (Stephen Lang), the Red Army commander who slew them, comes back looking to finish the job, a cross-country chase ensues where Aatami must outwit – and outkill – his enemies every step of the way.

“Stephen Lang was a perfect fit for the role of Yeagor. I think it is cool to have two older dudes fighting each other. He gives a nice balance to the film,” Helander said.

“The emotion, the epic landscape and the bigger and bigger action set pieces [in Sisu: Road to Revenge] really demand a big screen and an audience to enjoy it as it should be! The Atmos sound and the furious chase is meant for theaters!!”

In his Sisu review, IGN critic Matt Donato hailed the 2023 film and its director: “Jalmari Helander proves that killing Nazis never goes out of style – as long as you’re willing to hit as hard as Sisu. … We praise a tale of impossible might, unlimited mayhem, and a Nazi body count that sure isn’t stingy.”

Sisu: Road to Revenge will be released in theaters by Screen Gems on November 21, 2025.
