According to the Panthers, the Panthers sent Thielen, a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Vikings for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Thielen, 35, has been with the Panthers the last two seasons and has led the team in receiving during his tenure in Carolina. He totaled 1,629 receiving yards and nine touchdowns since joining the team.
As an undrafted free agent in 2013, Thielen turned into one of the NFL’s best wide receivers while in Minnesota. He was a Pro Bowler in 2017 and 2018 and returns to the franchise, where he ranks fifth in receiving yards (6,682) and third in receiving touchdowns (55).
As for the Panthers’ receiving corps, it’s now in the hands of the young players. Of the six wideouts on the active roster, four are in their first or second season (Tremayne is entering his third season, and Moore is entering his eighth season).
A reunion between Thielen and the Vikings was rumored among the league for weeks, and now the deal has finally been done as the Panthers net a fourth-round draft pick, and Thielen will (likely) finish his career where it started.
