Lane restrictions expected for highway bridge repairs near Hazleton

HAZLETON – Expect lane restrictions on the Interstate in the Hazleton area this week as PennDOT repairs bridges.

There will be lane restrictions from 7am to 3pm Wednesday and Thursday on Interstate 81.

Wednesday is southbound between Route 924 and the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Beltway.

Thursday is northbound between Route 924 and Route 93.

These lane restrictions are to allow PennDOT crews to work on bridge deck repairs on the highway.

PennDOT says drivers in a work zone should drive the posted speed limit, turn on their headlights and pay attention to signs and flaggers.
