BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Officials with the China Lake Mountain Rescue Group helped a multi-agency operation to find a missing hiker by Cottonwood Lakes.
The hiker was discovered on Aug. 19, after being reported missing on Aug. 16, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department.

Mono County Search and Rescue Teams, the National Park Service and the California Army National Guard all assisted in the successful rescue.
All of those involved in the rescue were flown out safely on a CH-47 helicopter. The China Lake Mountain Rescue Group is a non-profit organization affiliated with KCSO.
