Fatal multi-vehicle accident claims one life in Shelby: NCSHP

SHELBY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is dead following a multi-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Shelby, according to the NC State Highway Patrol.

The fatal accident happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the intersection of College Avenue and Skinner Road.

Troopers confirmed with Queen City News that the morning wreck involved three vehicles. The preliminary report indicates that a vehicle rear-ended another, which then sent that vehicle crashing head-on into a third vehicle.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their age and identity have not yet been publicly released. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation.
