The apparent crash appears to have unfolded outside of a home in the 7000 block of South Yale Avenue, in Greater Grand Crossing.
While Chicago police have not yet offered details on the incident, SkyCam 9 was over the scene around 6:15 a.m. when the damaged squad car could be seen resting near debris that was scattered along the side of the road. Additionally, nearby tire tracks extended into the grass, ending near the damaged car.
While the squad car had suffered some front-end damage, no other damaged cars were spotted nearby.
Another squad car that did not appear to be damaged was also spotted in the area, with several officers standing nearby.
Authorities have not yet provided details on what led to the incident or if anyone was injured.
