Senior Nadira Avery is one of many who said she is excited to begin a new school year. Like many in the area, she’s grateful for the nice weather to help ring in the new semester.
“This is so exciting to be winding down my college career,” she said.
School officials say they are expecting an enrollment of nearly 6,000 students for this semester. Though classes officially kicked off on Monday, many students were still moving back into the dorms on Tuesday.
Senior Janee Lewis said she has been spending time meeting new freshmen students to help show them the ropes. Despite the excitement, she said she’s ready to end her student career and is looking forward to graduating.
“To be here and finally be a senior is definitely exciting, and I know it is important for me to finish out strong and I am super excited to do such,” she said.
This semester concludes at the end of December.
