“It’s been hard for me and his mom,” said Tatum’s father, David Eddy. “But he’s like a little superhero to everybody. And you know, for him to be all smiles and for everything that he’s going through is great. You know, it puts a smile on everybody’s faces.”
Eddy and his family decided to create a fundraiser to help with financial support called the “Stand Tall with Tatum Benefit and Ride,” which will take place Saturday, August 30th at 11 a.m., departing from Easy Tiger restaurant and bar, at 411 East Riverside.
It’s also supported by the bikers with the Headache Crew Social Club. The fundraiser features a motorcycle ride and a prize raffle.
“I want him to live a happy life like he’s already doing, but I also want him to express and be able to go outside whenever they want to take him out,” explained Eddy.
All the proceeds go towards medical equipment for Tatum, including a handicapped accessible vehicle.
Easy Tiger owner Brent Beehler says he’s glad to help, especially for a friend.
“It’s not really about me and about what I’m doing, it’s about trying to help somebody. A lot of people might not know or a lot of people may have some similar issues in the family that it’s nice I’m sure for them to be able to relate and talk to David being his dad and again help cover some costs for what they’re going through,” shared Beehler.
Eddy says his one goal is to give his son a better quality of life.
“I hope he can get the stuff that he needs to make his life easier for him. Not only him, his mom, and the rest of the family,” said Eddy.
