According to police, someone found the bag in Porterville and brought it into the front lobby of the police department on April 19. Officers have since tried to track down the legal owner of the money, using items in the bag that contained potential leads, but the owner has never been located or identified.
Police are now asking anyone who believes the lost money belongs to them to contact them.
Anyone with information that could help identify the owner of the money is asked to contact Sergeant Erik Martinez at 559-782-7576.
