According to authorities, 25-year-old Ashley Susan Graham, of Auburn, was taken into custody on a felony warrant and has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
Police say the arrest comes after officers responded to the complaint near the 400 block of North Dean Road on Monday when authorities were notified that deceased household animals were located in a residence.
A dog and a cat were reportedly found dead inside the home.
Auburn’s Animal Control responded to the scene and eventually an investigation was launched by Auburn Police and Animal Control, which developed Graham as a suspect.
Authorities say evidence indicated that the death of the animals occurred under conditions that were in violation of Alabama state law 13A-11-14.1 regarding aggravated cruelty to animals.
Graham was transported to the Lee County Jail and was held on a $5,000 bond.
