Adair County man arrested after allegedly sharing child exploitation images online

COLUMBIA, Ky. (FOX 56) — An Adair County man has been charged after an undercover internet crimes against children investigation.

Kentucky State Police said 25-year-old Austin Beard was arrested around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

According to a news release, an investigation was opened after authorities discovered Beard was allegedly sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

Police said they seized equipment allegedly used to facilitate the crime, and the investigation is ongoing.

Beard has been charged with five counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under eighteen years old, five counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under twelve years old, and one count of procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means.
