The Manassas City Police Department said the teen was accused of vehicle tampering in the 9400 block of Spice Glade Court on May 14. Weeks later, on June 7, around 3:30 a.m., the same person had allegedly set a vehicle on fire.
As the investigation developed, fire investigators partnered with the Manassas police to investigate.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody on Aug. 20. They were charged with burning or destroying property (class 4 felony), two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle and destruction of property.
