There’s a brand new Star Trek video game for VR headsets in the works, which describes itself as the franchise’s “first narrative survival” experience.
A debut trailer for Star Trek Infection reveals the game as being developed by Polish studio Broken Mirror Games. The project will be published in collaboration with Bloober Team, the company behind The Medium and Silent Hill 2.
Star Trek fans will immediately recognise various elements within the trailer from the franchise’s Deep Space 9 era, with mentions of the Alpha Quadrant, a ship that looks identical to the Defiant, and some familiar-looking uniforms.
Beyond that, there’s no sign here of any familiar Star Trek characters. But perhaps Quark will pop up at some point.
Our first look at gameplay shows the typical VR fare, albeit with some mutant tentacle additions. The trailer’s voiceover and key art looks to showcase a vulcan hero, able to mind meld and nerve pinch, and flex some additional infected powers.
Star Trek Infection is set to arrive for Meta and Steam headsets later in 2025.
