The incident was reported at 2:15 a.m. outside The Chop Bar on John F. Kennedy Drive, which sits between the Hagerstown Community College campus and the Meritus Medical Complex.
Three other gunshot victims are considered to have non-life-threatening injuries.
A witness told DC News Now that an argument allegedly started at another establishment on Dual Highway, Route 40, just a few minutes from the Chop Bar. The altercation then migrated to the scene where the shooting took place.
“After sorting through what was going on, they were able to identify four victims that suffered gunshot wounds, three of which were minor in nature. The fourth was more serious, and they were taken to the hospital,” said Sgt. Carly Hose with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
