The game’s start was plagued with turnovers by both teams.
After a 53-yard punt by Iowa State’s Tyler Perkins, K-State running back Dylan Edwards fumbled the ball, which was ultimately recovered by the Cyclones. Edwards did not return to the game. Kansas State has not provided any further updates at this time.
The Cyclones would strike first, with a 23-yard touchdown reception.
The Wildcats would score on the next drive, with a 10-yard run for quarterback Avery Johnson and a good extra point, tying the game 7-7.
The score would remain the same at halftime.
Iowa State scored again with a 23-yard touchdown pass, but once again, the Wildcats responded on the following drive.
K-State wide receiver Jayce Brown would score on a 37-yard pass from Johnson, tying things up at 14-14.
Iowa State would score twice in the fourth with a field goal and another touchdown.
Despite a 65-yard touchdown pass from Johnson to wide receiver Jerand Bradley, the Wildcats were unable to complete the comeback.
K-State will be back in action next weekend in Manhattan taking on North Dakota at 6 p.m.
