TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police arrested a man accused of driving more than double the speed limit while under the influence in Tippecanoe County Sunday morning.

According to a news release, a trooper patrolling Interstate 65 near the 172-mile marker stopped a 2019 Audi S5 just before 8 a.m. as it was reportedly traveling over 130 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone.

After conducting a traffic stop, ISP said the trooper developed a suspicion that the driver was driving while under the influence of alcohol. The trooper placed 21-year-old Anthony Lane of Monticello under arrest.

Lane was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail, where he was preliminarily charged with misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and reckless driving.
