PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After the remains of a 20-year-old woman were discovered in a storage unit in The Dalles late last month, local officials have identified a person of interest in the case.

Multiple law enforcement agencies discovered the human remains on July 29. Officials say they belonged to Meihong He, also known as Kiki. She was originally from China and was living in the Mid-Columbia area.

“Since the discovery of the remains, detectives have been working collaboratively on leads and following up on tips. A person of interest was developed and follow-up investigation was completed in California, Washington, Utah, Nevada and Colorado,” The Dalles police said.

Richard Robinson, a 59-year-old man from The Dalles, was identified as a person of interest after he was arrested in Colorado for failing to register as a sex offender on Monday. He is lodged in the Larimer County Jail pending extradition to Oregon.

The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information on Robinson is asked to contact police.
