AUSTIN (KXAN) — A boil water notice was issued for customers in the Plum Creek water system in Hays County after a water main break, according to a notice from Texas Water Utilities.

That main break affected the following neighborhoods — Rolling Hills, Windy Hills, Green Pastures, Branch View, Park South and Dove Hills, according to the utility.

Those neighborhoods affected should bring water to “a vigorous” rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes before using it for drinking, cooking and making ice. In addition to boiling water, the utility said affected customers can also use bottled water.

The utility said it will notify customers once the boil water notice is no longer in effect and “that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.”

Any customers with questions should call the company at 1-866-654-7992 or check the Texas Water Utilities website.
