According to ALEA, at 3:05 p.m. officers with the Tallassee Police Department responded to a domestic violence call in the 2900 block of Notasulga Road. Officers say that during the incident the suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Adam Davis, fired a weapon causing officers to shoot him.
Davis was transported by helicopter to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. Once released from the hospital, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office will transport Davis to the Muscogee County Jail for extradition back to Alabama. Davis is facing a felony charge for possession of a firearm and has pending charges for domestic violence.
No officers were injured during the course of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
