$370 million microchip facility to be built in north Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Gov. Jeff Landry announced Monday that defense contractor Radiance Technologies is investing $370.65 million in a microchip packaging facility that will be constructed in Ruston, north of the sports complex.

The company expects a total of 150 new direct jobs to be created. According to the Louisiana Economic Development, these jobs will have an average salary of $85,000, which is 180% of the Lincoln Parish average. Fourteen current positions will be expanded. Officials said an additional 146 new indirect jobs are estimated.

“North Louisiana has answered the call to defend our nation for generations, and today we carry that tradition forward with this landmark investment from Radiance Technologies,” Landry said. “This new secure microchip facility not only strengthens our national security, it also positions North Louisiana as a hub for advanced manufacturing, bringing new jobs and technical expertise that allow us to embrace higher education partnerships and new possibilities.”

LED said the 40,000-square-foot facility construction project is part of a new “all-of-Louisiana” economic development approach in partnership with the agency, City of Ruston, Louisiana Tech University and the Louisiana Tech University Foundation.

Construction is slated to start in spring 2026. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027.
