1 dead, child injured in Tippecanoe County crash

BATTLE GROUND, Ind.– A child is injured and a person is dead following a single-vehicle crash.

On Monday, at approximately 1:21 p.m., Battle Ground police officers received a call regarding a single-vehicle crash. Officers arrived at the 7300 block of Harrison Road and shortly after notified the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office of a possible fatality.

The coroner confirmed the fatality shortly after arriving on scene.

According to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, a child was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was transported with injuries to a nearby hospital.

The sheriff’s office is currently working on positively identifying the deceased and will perform an autopsy on Tuesday to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

At this time, the sheriff’s office has not confirmed the age or condition of the child involved.
