Water main break shuts down Alameda road

(KRON) — An Alameda street has been shut down due to a water main break Sunday evening, the Alameda Fire Department announced on X. Webster Street is closed from Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Avenue until further notice.

The water main break was reported near Webster Street and Buena Vista Avenue. According to officials, it has caused flooding and the formation of several sinkholes. AFD posted photos of the damage below.

AFD, East Bay Municipal Utility District and Alameda Public Works Department are at the scene responding to the water main break.

There is no estimated time for the road to reopen, officials said. AFD posted on X about the water main break at 6:43 p.m.
