Vehicle stolen from gas station with toddler inside: CMPD
The incident happened just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, in the parking lot of a Circle K gas station located in the 7000 block of University City Boulevard. CMPD said a vehicle belonging to OHANS Car Rental LLC was taken while the child was still inside.
According to the police report, one suspect drove off with the car, while a second suspect is accused of causing a ‘risk of serious harm’ to the child. Thankfully, the toddler was not hurt and was not directly threatened during the incident, the police report states.
The case is now being handled by CMPD’s Crimes Against Children Department. Charges in this case include motor vehicle theft, misdemeanor child abuse, simple assault, and kidnapping.
Queen City News has reached out to CMPD for the suspects’ identities. We are waiting to hear back. This remains an active investigation.
