On Aug. 24, Summit County deputies responded to a burglary alarm at the Park City Gun Club, located at 4285 N Forestdale Dr. Upon arrival, they heard shots being fired inside of the gun club.
Outside, one deputy’s hand was struck by an unknown object that came from the gun club.
A man, later identified as Duron, exited the building and got into a van while deputies ordered him to stop. He then sped away from the scene as police pursued his vehicle.

Duron allegedly stayed in the vehicle with a “rifle style gun” on his lap, court documents state. Eventually, he exited the van and placed the rifle on the ground, complying with the SWAT team’s directions.
He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
According to police, Duron broke into the gun club, stole multiple firearms, and fired 15 shots of the building. He reportedly damaged over $5,000 in property. Upon searching Duron’s van, police found five firearms that were taken from the Park City Gun Club.
