Chicagoans may need a light jacket to start the work week as fall-like weather lingers over the city.
Monday will bring sunny skies and generally quiet conditions, with a northwest wind keeping things breezy and gusts reaching up to 20 mph. Highs will remain unseasonably cool in the low 70s.
A Beach Hazards Statement has been issues for Lake Michigan beaches in Northwest Indiana through 10 p.m. Monday night, with waves of 3 to 6 feet and dangerous currents expected.
The extended outlook calls for our taste of fall to continue into Tuesday, with highs for some of us that will stay in the upper 60s, though, away from the lake breeze spots could get into the low 70s.
We’re expecting warmer temperatures on Wednesday, climbing into the mid-to-low 70s. We’ll likely keep the temps in the comfortable 70s, but bring in a few isolated showers for Thursday and Friday. An early peek at Labor Day weekend looks nice, with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s and not too humid.
