SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A driver was taken to the hospital after they were ejected from their truck during a crash on Interstate 95 in Spotsylvania County on Saturday morning.

Virginia State Police spokesperson Matthew Demlein said the crash happened at around 8:10 a.m. on I-95 south at the 128-mile marker. According to Demlein, the truck was hauling a trailer when it was struck by another vehicle that was changing lanes.

The truck then lost control and rolled over the guardrail, separating from the trailer. That’s when the back end of the truck slammed into a tree, ejecting the driver, state police said.

Medics took the driver to the hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

As of Sunday afternoon, police have not released any information regarding possible charges. As a result of the crash, traffic was backed up for several miles Saturday morning at mile marker 128, before exit 126.
