Young drivers invited to distracted, impaired simulator experience hosted by CPSO

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Louisiana recently implemented a law requiring hands-free use of cell phones in vehicles in an effort to make roadways safer. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is helping young adults understand the dangers of bad driving habits by providing a course on distracted and impaired driving.

On Tuesday, August 26, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., drivers aged 18-25 are invited to a hands-on session to help them develop safe driving habits. During the course, drivers will learn practical and real-life lessons to help them stay safe on the road.

Participants will have the opportunity to use goggles that simulate the effects of impairment and provide a realistic understanding of the consequences of unsafe driving practices.
